Excalibur
II
What
is Excalibur II?
The
vision and organization of Excalibur Christian School does not suit the needs
of all families. Excalibur II was created to permit the administration some
flexibility in providing for these special circumstances.
Excalibur II is for:
- Families who have spent a considerable amount of time in public school and would be uncomfortable adjusting to the homeschool culture.
|
- These families will usually elect to use our online curriculum.
- They have the opportunity to participate in graduation ceremonies
- They have the opportunity to participate in moms support groups meetings and workshops.
|
- Families who live more than 25 miles from Excalibur and cannot partipate in support group activities.
|
- They have the opportunity to participate in graduation ceremonies
- They have the opportunity to participate in moms support groups meetings and workshops.
|
These
families could consider Excalibur II, "Excalibur Light". Absolutely
no frills, no support group, just the basics: legal covering, support for moms, graduation,
and transcript. For this no frills option, the basic tuition is $65 plus fees
to cover initial application, transcript, and graduation costs.
Please
take note that the only common activity Excalibur II and Excalibur Christian
School may conduct would be a joint graduation ceremony. Otherwise Excalibur
II families will not participate in Excalibur C. S. events nor will they be
included on the Excalibur C. S. email list
Those
families who live within the 25 mile radius but who simply cannot afford to
pay the Excalibur C. S. tuition should request tuition assistance. A limited
number of scholarships may become available depending upon the generosity
of other Excalibur families.
What
are the requirements?

All
families must submit regular attendance and progress reports as determined

if I'm new to homeschooling?

We'll do our best to calm your fears and smooth the way for you.
What
about the interview? What can I expect?
Our
primary goal in the interview is to determine if we can meet your needs.
A very tiny number of families come expecting something we can't deliver.
Excalibur may not be right for you.
Our
secondary goal is to answer your questions and ease your anxiety about
homeschooling. Typical questions for new homeschoolers include:
As
a homeschooling family, you determine where you will educate your children.
The joy of homeschooling is that you have the liberty to go anywhere,
anytime, to do anything that you consider educational for your children.
Just keep in mind that children should always be supervised during the
normal school day.
- What
curriculum do you use?
Most new homeschoolers will want to take advantage of our new online curriculum allowing your computer to do the teaching and grading. In certain situations and depending upon the needs of your family and student, we may advise you to use another curriculum
Online Curriculum
Students excel using Alpha Omega's award-winning on-line curriculum. The stimulating multimedia and interactive format infuse the learning process with plenty of excitement. The five core subjects -- Bible, Language Arts, Math, History and Geography, and Science -- plus a variety of electives are available.
Log in through the Excalibur website and let us do the grading and reporting. If you need access to qualified teachers to supplement the program, sign up for telephone support and get up to five hours of personal tutoring per month.
